Unleash Your Inner Pioneer by ‘Glamping’ in a Conestoga Wagon near Yosemite

New Lodging Option - Conestoga Wagons at Yosemite Pines RV Resort and Family Lodging

You’ve seen “covered wagons” in Western movies ever since Hollywood began telling the stories of the great migrations to the Old West. Those flickering old films showed families as they packed up their few belongings, hitched up their horses, and followed dusty trails westward in search of a better life. And now, you have the opportunity to re-live that experience, but in a very modern and comfortable way.

The famous song of the West might have said, “they’ll be driving six white horses when they come,” but you’ll just have to drive to California’s Gold Country to enjoy the brand new American-made Conestoga Wagons at Yosemite Pines RV Resort and Family Lodging.

Even though several generations have passed since the days of the Old West, that Pioneer spirit comes alive when you stay in a furnished Conestoga Wagon, with heating, air-conditioning and all the amenities you expect for a fun ‘glamping’ vacation. And unlike the Pioneers who slept on a bedroll under the stars, you’ll sleep on a king-sized bed while others in your party enjoy the twin bunks inside the wagon.

When morning comes, you can get back into the spirit of the pioneers by making your coffee over a campfire in the wagon site’s fire ring, to be enjoyed on the picnic table while you view the scenic surroundings of the Sierra Nevada foothills. If you think cooking coffee over an open fire seems too rustic, these Conestoga Wagons also feature a modern Keurig coffee maker, as well as microwaves, refrigerators and bed linens.

Once they have spent the day taking selfies with the magnificent Yosemite Falls as their backdrop, they return to the resort to cook dinner over the fire ring or pick up something at the resort’s on-site deli.

While on an Escapation® at Yosemite Pines Resort – where escape and vacation meet – guests have great family fun using the many on-site recreation amenities such as a swimming pool, and the popular Petting Farm with many adorable animals. And then they finish off the day with some time on the Bocce Ball and Volleyball courts or the Fitness Trail, and enjoy outdoor movies and hayrides during the summer season.
