Stay at Wuksachi Lodge in the Heart of Sequoia National Park

Experience the beauty of the giant sequoias.

Looking to experience the awe and splendor of the Sierra without Yosemite’s crowds? Head to its neighboring national parks to the south, Sequoia and Kings Canyon.

Basecamp your stay in Sequoia National Park at the stunning Wuksachi Lodge in the heart of the park. Located just down the road from the famous General Sherman Tree, this stone-and-cedar mountain-style lodge is the perfect getaway.

Each of the lodge’s 102 guest rooms are set a little way away from the main lodge, adding to the sense of seclusion the wilderness location provides. Designed to highlight the area’s gorgeous natural features like granite, oak, cedar and hickory, you’ll find flat panel TVs, mini-fridges, coffee makers, ski racks and more in each room.

You’ll be able to disconnect and truly enjoy your vacation since internet is only available in the main lodge and cell phone service is sporadic — a perfect excuse to put your phone on airplane mode and forget the world.

The on-site Peaks Restaurant features picture windows for you to take in the view as you enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner. A full breakfast buffet is available in the mornings and entrees like salads, soups and sandwiches will help fuel more exploring. At night, dine on ruby-red trout and grass-fed burgers, or opt for the pizza deck’s mouthwatering pies. The Peaks has a full bar.

You’ll also find a retail shop that specializes in Native American-themed gifts and apparel.

In the summer, hike the park’s incredible trails, many of which start near the lodge, or take in the heart-pounding view from the climb up nearby Moro Rock for an incredible Sierra sunset.
