In Camarillo, Pick Produce and Pay Tribute to a President
Pick your own strawberries, tomatoes, winter squash or pumpkins and then go see a piece of the Berlin Wall and a replica of the Oval Office.
Just 15 minutes from the beach, Camarillo offers affordable hotels and an opportunity to explore an organic produce farm, shop at discount outlets and see the local art scene.
“It’s an opportunity to relax and unwind in an uncrowded region,” says Yuliana Gonzalez, executive director of Visit Camarillo. “We’re just an hour from LA.”

Do U-Pick at An Organic Farm in Camarillo
Start your day at The Abundant Table, a 4-acre certified organic, nonprofit farm where you can get a taste of that famous fresh produce California is known for. Depending on the season, you can pick your own produce. Strawberry U-Pick season is usually March through July, and tomato U-Pick season is August through October, weather dependent. The farm store on site sells a variety of fresh fruit and vegetables, along with local goods like olive oil, honey, goat milk soap and hand-carved cutting boards.
Camarillo is Known for Its Premium Outlets

From there, the Camarillo Premium Outlets are just minutes away where you can shop designer brands like Gucci and Guess or purchase outdoor gear for your vacation at The North Face, lululemon, the Columbia Factory Store and more. The Camarillo Premium Outlets is the largest outlet store center in California with over 200 shops.
Visit Old Town Camarillo
In old town Camarillo, consider visiting Studio Channel Islands Art Center, 2222 E. Ventura Blvd., where you can explore two art galleries and an outdoor exhibit area for free in what was once an elementary school. On the first Saturday of every month, you can tour the 26 artists studios inside.

Then head to The Wine Closet where you can order small plates like artisan cheese crostinis, hot soft pretzels and a glass of wine or beer. There’s a gourmet specialty market inside, too, where you can pick up items for the road. Down the street is Sessions at the Loft, a creative media space, that offers live music and performances. Check its website at sessionsattheloft.com for the events calendar.
Ronald Reagan Presidential Library
A Tribute to the Gipper

See a piece of the Berlin Wall and climb aboard Air Force One just 25 miles from Camarillo at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Center for Public Affairs.
Built in 1991, the library features permanent and special exhibits on President Ronald Reagan, the 40th president of the United States. A longtime Hollywood actor, Reagan served as president from 1981-89. His leadership facilitated the fall of the Berlin Wall on Nov. 9, 1989, ushering in democracy to East Germany.
Inside, you’ll find a full-sized replica of the Oval Office where President Reagan reportedly never took off his suit jacket. The library’s Air Force One aircraft flew seven presidents, including Reagan who logged 660,000 miles on it to 26 countries and 46 states.
The library is located at 40 Presidential Dr. in Simi Valley, Calif. Learn more at reaganfoundation.org/library-museum.
