Built in 1927, the historic Ahwahnee Hotel is a fantastic destination if you are looking for a romantic place to bring your significant other. Rustic but elegant chandeliers hang from a 34-foot-high ceiling while floor-to-ceiling windows offer beautiful views. Award-winning chef Percy Whatley offers a lively menu from pumpkin flan to grilled angus filet mignon. Adding to the romance factor is the sound of classical music filling the air as a professional pianist plays on the room’s piano.

Catch a rare sight at Horsetail Fall near El Capitan for Valentine’s Day. In mid-to-late February, the setting sun makes Horsetail Fall near El Capitan appear to be on fire. To see the firefall, there needs to be significant snowpack that is melted by warming temperatures.

3. Propose at a Yosemite Viewpoint

Carve hearts in the ice and hold hands with your significant other as you skate around the Curry Village Ice Rink. Aside from being romantic, holding hands might actually help you keep your balance if you are new to ice skating. Whether you are a novice or expert skater, enjoy this fun winter sport in one of the most beautiful rinks in the country. Take in views of Half Dome and Glacier Point and take advantage of the open fire pit and warming hut when you need a break from the crisp winter air.

5. Toast Your Relationship at an Area Vineyard or Brewery

Raise a glass to celebrate your love for one another at one of the incredible vineyards or breweries near the park. Located 30 miles east of the heart of San Francisco, the Tri-Valley is home to Livermore Valley wines and one of California’s newest beer trails- the Tri-Valley Beer Trail. Mariposa, one of park’s gateway towns, in the southwest corner of the park also offers great vineyard tours.
