I would hate to have it closed to us, but I do see where it should be closed to those who don't have as much hiking experience in general. I just hope I have the chance to be there, I love Yosemite too much and I'd be heartbroken to not have the opportunity to be at the top of Half Dome. This is a fine base to explore the park. After seeing the park, head west to Hwy 49 north all the way towards Sacramento. Much history and very interesting driving. Gene H. I loved learning about the indigenous crafts such as the basket making by the Native Americans. These experiences contributed to my education and awareness. Yosemite is an American treasure and I hope we continue to protect the spectacular nature in the park.
