West Entrance Area Accommodations
Hwy. 140 is Yosemite's all-weather highway, offering the most convenient and reliable year-round access to the park, especially for those visitors coming from San Francisco. Small tourist-oriented settlements such as El Portal, Briceburg, and Midpines offer comfortable motel and hotel accommodations, as well as bed-and-breakfast inns and rustic cabins for rent. Busy, frontier-flavored Mariposa is the nearest full-service town, while there are even more choices along the Hwy. 99 corridor through Merced and Fresno.
